The ironworks by the sea was founded in the early 18th century by Charles de Geer, the owner of Lövstaburk. Along the main street, you will find one of the country’s best-kept Lancashire forges from the 1880s, red smith’s lodgings, a bell tower, a Walloon church, and other fascinating buildings.
